Mount Whitney, California. Highest point in Contiguous United States

Mount Whitney was so high that you could not see all of it especially because there were clouds around it.  It is the highest peak in the contiguous United States.  We drove by it on our way home.

Badwater Basin - Lowest point in Western Hemisphere

At Badwater Basin, there was salt everywhere.  It actually looked like snow when you were walking on it.  And there was a tiny spring and there was a snail species that only lived in that one tiny pond where the water was very salty.  It's the lowest place in the western hemisphere.

Furance Ranch - Death Valley

We stayed at the Furnace Creek Ranch in Death Valley.  Outside of our cabin there was a playground and a pool.  We got tshirts at the souvenir shop and we had a fun time.  The highest recorded temperature at Furnace Creek Ranch was 134 degrees.  It is the second hottest and dryest place on the planet.

On our way to Mount Whitney, California

When we were on our way to Mt. Whitney, we stopped at a canyon.  It wasn't as big as the Grand Canyon, but it was very large.

Devil's Golf Course Death Valley - Sean interviews Mum

This place is called The Devil's Golf Course.  It is not really a golf course.  They just call it that because there is no way that you can golf on it.  It was very salty.  I brought back some rocks from there with crystalized salt on them.
